The minor in Russian Language, Literature and Culture (6 c.u.) is designed for students seeking to attain advanced proficiency in Russian while engaging deeply with the literary and cultural traditions of the Russian-speaking world. This program includes significant coursework conducted in Russian and is especially appropriate for students who plan to use the language in academic, professional, or immersive cultural settings.
Minor Requirements
Language Prerequisite
The RULA minor requires 4 semesters or equivalent in Russian. This prerequisite can be fulfilled through taking RUSS 0400 or RUSS 0401. These courses do not count toward the minor's 6 c.u.
Introductory Core (1 c.u.)
Any course numbered REES 0000-0099, including:
- REES 0010: Central and Eastern Europe: Cultures, Histories, Societies
- REES 0011: The Power of Language: A Linguistic History of Central and Eastern Europe
Advanced Russian (2 c.u.)
Any two courses from RUSS 1100, RUSS 1200, or any course with a REES subject code taught in Russian.
Electives (3 c.u.)
Any three courses with a REES subject code or bearing the attribute REES Elective (ARNE).
