The Tzar's Hunt

The Tzar's hunt in Białowieża Forest in 1894. Białowieża Forest is a vast woodland area located on the border between Poland and Belarus. In 1888, the Białowieża Forest was acquired by the royal family in return for lands in the Orel and Simbirsk provinces. Once the Belovezhsky Imperial Palace was built, Alexander III, Nicholas II, and the Grand Dukes frequently hunted in the Forest.
