Neda Scepanovic-Uliano

Lecturer for Penn Language Center

Neda was born and raised in Serbia, and has lived in Philadelphia since 2002. She studied English language and literature at the University of Belgrade. She has attended a creative writing workshop at Temple University for the past five years, and is currently working on a memoir, Swimming in a Fishbowl, which is an attempt at exploring the merging of Neda's Serbian heritage with her American experience. Political and cultural turmoil in Serbia forced her to look for a sense of stability elsewhere, but her ties to her native country are still strong. It is her wish, through the training she received in linguistics and methodology, to share the rich and complex language and culture of Serbia with the focus on her students' interests and needs.
